Ten days of experiential performance, music and events that challenge you to see things differently
Curated by Waterside Arts, our exciting festival of work takes place in and around Sale in Trafford (Greater Manchester).
A carefully curated programme, jilted from convention, for audiences of all ages.
Back with a bang for its third edition this July, is the opportunity to experience things differently at Waterside during Refract:19 . Running from Thursday 18 July to Saturday 27 July, this ten day event promises the very best in live comedy, music, dance, experiential performance and theatre.
Expect the unexpected as Trafford’s award-winning arts destination is re-imagined both inside and out, to host everything from firm favourites and familiar faces, to new talent, Edinburgh previews and a few surprises along the way. From Japanese rope art from Lumo Theatre to award-winning comedy from Tony Law, Sophie Willian and Alun Cochrane; slime making in libraries to art installations in the Golden Years Caravan; performances in a theatrical tent by Mimika, to cabaret clubs, jazz joints and contemporary folk music; as well as spectacular outdoor dance and a night with an erotic fiction writer, Refract:19 really does pack in ten days of cultural delight.
New for Refract:19, we’ll have a brand new late-night stage in ‘Sup Bar & Coffee House; showcasing some awesome emerging artists.
